2015 Begins

The new year is here.  It is January 1st. It is 2015.  And, as I stated in a post last night, the question of the day is “Where Do You Want to Go?”

2015 Begins

Have you made your resolutions for 2015? I have not. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I have not committed them to writing. Why? Don’t I need a plan if I am going to do something specific in 2015? Yes, I do. It was becuase of 2014 that I have not yet written those down.

2014, The Year that Was

In January of last year I made plans. I knew where I wanted to go and where I wanted to end up at year’s end. I planned to do ABC and complete 123. My goals were set. I would lose X amount of weight. I would exercise X amount of time each week. I would….you get the idea.2015 Begins

Guess what? The majority of the planned didn’t go as planned. In some cases – such as with the weight – I gained rather than lost. I gained A LOT. (No, I’m not happy about that!)

Why did this happen? I’ll be honest and admit it here and now – I allowed external circumstances influence my plans. I won’t rehash the past, but feel free to read The Closing of the Gate for more information.

This year – 2014 – wasn’t what I had planned, but it could’ve ended differently – in a negative way. Did my circumstances change? Yes!

My focus on what was lost blinded me a bit from what was found.

I think this is worth repeating. . .

My focus on what was lost blinded me a bit from what was found.

Claiming 2015

I choose to claim 2015. I’ll accept each day as it is and, hopefully, make the best of it. I’ll keep my plans to myself, but work diligently to make them happen. I will claim my own imperfections and hope to be better on January 01, 2016 than I am today.

In the end, isn’t that what we all want to be???
