Doctor Who Christmas Special 2012

Tuesday, December 25, 2012 is set to bring not only Christmas Day but, as has become tradition, a new Doctor Who Christmas episode.   Airing in the US on BBC America at 9:00pm/8:00pm (EST/CST) and titled “The Snowmen”, this year’s holiday episode is set to bring several treats.  It will also have an impact going into 2013 and into the 50th Anniversary celebration.

This year we should expect to see:

The first episode post-Amy Pond

The first episode with Jenna-Louise Coleman as the companion.

The return of some familiar faces from last series episode, “A Good Man Goes to War”

What is unexpected, at least for me, is the recent revelation that there will be a new TARDIS interior.   I have not been a total fan of the interior since but preferred the Ninth and Tenth Doctor’s over the current.  I miss the white/grey colors of the classic.  Now, or should I say at least for now, it may be that we are seeing a return to classic colors – in some fashion.

Is this a homage going into the 50th Anniversary?
