Fans of Torchwood, the spin off series to Doctor Who starring John Barrowman as Capt. Jack Harkness, can rejoice. Big Finish announced today that Torchwood returns in 2015 as part of a Big Finish audio drama series.
Fans had speculated that a Big Finish return was the most-probable way that Torchwood might return. Big Finish turn that speculation into reality today by posting the following:
Big Finish proudly presents John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood – an all new series of audio dramas based on the fantastic Doctor Who spin-off series.
Torchwood, the intrepid team of alien investigators, returns in a series of six audio productions, as part of a licensing deal with BBC Worldwide. (Courtesy of Big Finish. Read the entire article by clicking here.)
Torchwood is the brainchild of former Doctor Who showrunner, Russell T. Davies. It ran from October 22, 2006 – September 15, 2011 – across four series and 44 episodes. Stories focused around the Torchwood Institute and a team lead by Captain Jack. In many ways, the content changed based on the channel on which it aired. At least, in my opinion.
